Spam Filtering

This is an updated post on the state of spam filtering .

In 2011, I abandoned spam filtering. The free products were crap due to neglect, and badly gamed by spammers. They cost CPU, delay, and false negatives. I don’t have any urgent need to stop providing email services; I just no longer will spend efforts with antispam.

Today, for people willing to spend some money, I am recommending that Google host your email. I’m happy to discuss what’s good/bad about his, ping me. If you’re currently on my free service, I’ll be happy to help you move your mail over.

If you’re not willing to do that (financial reasons, philosophical reasons) then I’m still happy to host your email. However, it won’t be under the name. Either get a domain name; or use / .
